Tap To Pay

Pay for fares with your credit or debit (Visa or Mastercard) card, or payment enabled device. No bus ticket needed!

Tap to pay is now across all HTA and A&MRTS bus routes, except Dial-a-Ride and Flex microtransit. When transferring between buses, you have to tap onto next bus but will not be charged if you are within two hours of your first tap.

This system works by matching the credit card number used, so when transferring to the next bus you must use the exact same credit or debit card, or you will be charged a new fare.

FARE CAPPING RATES
(MUST USE THE SAME CARD)

  • 2 HOURS: $2
  • 1 DAY: $5
  • 7 DAYS: $15
  • 31 DAYS: $50

Card must have this symbol to work:

  1. What contactless payment types are accepted?
HTA currently accepts Visa and Mastercard contactless-enabled bank cards and mobile
wallets. Accepted mobile wallets are: Apple Pay, Google Pay, Samsung Pay, and Fitbit
    Pay.
  2. How do I use my contactless-enabled bank card or payment enabled card or a payment enabled device?
Tap the yellow reader with your card as you board the bus.
  3. Can I still ride HTA buses if I do not have a contactless-enabled card or a payment
    enabled device?
Yes! You can still pay using cash, or any of our HTA passes.
  4. Can I pay for more than one person using one contactless payment method?
Not at this time. Each rider must pay with an individual contactless-enabled bank card or
    payment-enabled device.
